wear: A New Hemline is Born

wear: A New Hemline is BornLast year, you would hard-pressed to find a red carpet attendee that did not wear a peplum skirt or dress. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that actress Blake Lively was the unofficial star of the Cannes red carpet, looking breathtaking in designer gowns by Gucci and Chanel. Yet, it was when she stepped out of a black car, wearing this Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown, she may have unintentionally started a fashion trend.  The dress’s hemline reminds me of a classier, more structured version of the mullet skirt or a less ruffled peplum. It’s almost like an inverted skort. While writing this post, I had a difficult time finding other dresses that had similar hemlines, so you know that this is a trend on the verge. You should get on board with this new hemline so you can say that you were a fan since the beginning. Just thought I might suggest…

  1. I like the idea of an inverted skort, and Blake Lively looks gorgeous, as always!
