listen: “Digital Witness” by St. Vincent

listen: Digital Witness by St VincentYouTube is a great source for parodies that comment on the state of the union or the affect of media through song, but it has been awhile since a song directly addresses the subject head on. Enter singer/songwriter Annie Clark aka St. Vincent. With her new single, “Digital Witness”, she talks about people use and are manipulated by social media all over a funky trumpet driven bassline.  “I wanted to make a party record you could play at a funeral,” St. Vincent told Rolling Stone last year. I wouldn’t mind an instrumental version playing in the background of my eulogy. You can take a listen to the song here, I think you might get a kick out of it. Also, feel free to share your comments about the message this song is trying to envoke. Just thought I might suggest…
