appreciate: Jaeyeol Han

appreciate Jaeyeol HanIt’s funny how we as people can look at a person, a place, a thing (a noun basically) and see completely different things. In South Korean artist Jaeyeol Han’s portrait paintings, he allows the viewer to see not only the subject’s face, but the feelings that lies beneath it. Han’s paintings blur the lines between abstract and traditional paintings, opting for visually striking colors to highlight facial composition. Due to the use of vibrant, lively paintbrush strokes, the emotions of his subjects leap off of the canvas. Sometimes, there is so much motion and emotion that the paint strokes escape the outline of the face.  More of his work can be found here, it is definitely worth a look. Just thought I would suggest…
