eat: Baked Persimmons

eat Baked PersimmonsI’m embarrassed to say that up until a couple days, I had no idea what a persimmon was. It’s a fruit that resembles an unripe tomato that I tend to see around the holiday season, but have ignored for the more familiar seasonal apple and pumpkin. I was feeling adventurous recently I decided to try a persimmon for the first time and I instantly regretted neglecting this fruit for so long. Persimmons taste like a mix between a mango and peach and have a juicy, fleshy interior. I was so happy to find a new favorite fruit and couldn’t wait to incorporate it into favorite holiday recipes. A entry level recipe for permissions would be to broil them like grapefruit like this recipe highlights or to carve them out and fill them with a nut streusel like this recipe suggest. Either way, you’re bound to find a new obsession this holiday season. Just thought I would suggest…
