appreciate: Yayoi Kusama

appreciate Yayoi KusamaJapanese artist Yayoi Kusama is a jack of all trades in the creative field. She works with a wide range of mediums, including paintings, collages, performance art, and sculptures to name a few. She had to have had an influence on artist like Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol because she was known for pop art works as well. The thing that drew my attention to her work was her light installations. The beautiful installation pictured above is named “Firelies in the Water”  for the obvious reasons and is made with LED lights and mirrors. It is currently located at the David Zwirner Gallery in New York City and can be interacted with until December 21st. More of her work can be found here. If you are interested in art, Yayoi Kusama is a name you need to know. Just thought I would suggest…
