eat: Macarons- The Saint Tropez Treat

Macaron The Saint Tropez TreatI was a little late to the macaron trend. I first saw them in the Sophia Coppola film, “Marie Antoniette”. I was obsessed with the aesthetic of that film, which included the shots of the pastel colored treat so I was instantly interested on getting my hands on one. Unfortunately, they weren’t very popular in the town I grew up in, so my first time having a macaron was a month ago. I didn’t know what to expect: they looked like they would be crunchy all the way through but they were chewy in the middle and the filling was the right consistency. I am hooked. It is looking to become an expense habit to have macarons at least once a week. Luckily, there are several recipes online, including this basic one. Making macarons is time consuming and I’ve heard horror stories about cookies cracking and crumbling, but if you can master the art of making macarons, you can do anything (well, almost anything).     That movie is sinfully beautiful! I got on the macaron trend this spring after seeing them all over instagram. I tried to tell myself I loved them but really I fin them kind of boring-bring kn the eclairs! Regardless, they are so pretty!
