appreciate: Shayna Leib

Sun-Rising-over-the-Tundra-Shayna LeibWhen I was in Italy, I saw a glassblowing presentation that was absolutely spectacular. I always found the versatility of glass to be fascinating but I had no idea that glass could be used to make breathtaking sculptures like the ones artist Shayna Leib creates. Leib cuts glass strips into tens of thousands of carefully measured pieces and creates these epics installations that have been featured in prominent galleries all over the country. What’s so amazing about her works are that they looks incredibly life-like. Depending on the color of the glass, her sculptures could look like coral at the bottom of the Great Barrier Reef or a natural crystal formation. More of Leib’s work can be found here.
