watch: Sex and the City

sex and the city

I think I was 8 years old when “Sex and the City” originally premiered on HBO, but luckily for syndication and DVD rentals, I have been able to watch the series later on and I’m obsessed. As a girl who loves fashion and writing, I would label myself as a Carrie, and I was obsessed with her fashion, but the clothes and glamour aren’t the only great thing about the show. It’s how open these women are about sex and how they talk about it. I was raised with modest, Midwestern values, so when I moved to the East Coast, where people don’t smile, say hello, or even acknowledge your presence – even if you know them. This show opened my eyes to the realities (and fantasies) of dating and showed me that I wasn’t alone in my thought and perceptions about life, liberty, love, and the pursuit of all three.
