explore: Big Sur, California

Big Sur, California

There are plenty of picturesque places in California, but one that remains a popular tourist destination is Big Sur. What’s interesting about this place is that even though it attracts thousands and thousands of visitors, it is known for being a secluded place where famous authors like Jack Kerouac and Hunter S Thompson would retreat to write their works. In fact, Kerouac’s stay in Big Sur inspired his novel of the same name. A big draw to the city is this natural habitat that has stayed in tack despite the rise in tourism. From the clear blue water of the Pacific Ocean to the high coastal mountain range, it is definitely a sight to take in, along with the art galleries and bakeries along the way.

Beautiful photo! I hope to make it up there this year.

  2. I’m heading to San Jose in June and was looking for mini-road-trip destinations, thinks this’ll have to be added to the list. Thanks. Love the photo!
