Listen: Ellie Goulding

ellie-gouldingSongs: “Starry Eyed“, “Anything Can Happen“, and ” Hanging On

I remember the first time I heard “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. It was like nothing that I had heard on mainstream radio: a mix of electronic music with an ethereal feminine voice, I was obsessed. Then like most songs that are on the radio, it became overplayed and my appreciation for Ellie Goulding began to fade until she shaved half of her head, dated Skillrex, and released her new album, “Halcyon” this year. I cannot stop listening to this album, especially the trippy Active Child cover, “Hanging On”, and “Anything Can Happen” which has become a personal anthem of mine. I highly suggest looking into her music if you have time.

  1. I was a worried about getting her latest album in case it didn’t live up to her last one, which I thought was fab! But you persuaded me to look into it. ps. what did you think of her cover of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’?
