Watch: The Polar Express

The Polar ExpressI was one of those jaded people who stopped believing in Santa Claus at a young age. I specifically remember asking a Barbie dream house when I was 4 years old (and I am still waiting, by the way). This ‘horrifying’ experience is probably why I love “The Polar Express” so much and it’s one of my favorite movies to watch during the holidays. The film is about a young boy who wants to believe in Santa Claus, but has a difficult time doing so. In the middle of this quest, a train that is heading towards the North Pole to see Santa, magically stops in front of his house and he is invited to come aboard. During this train ride, he meets other children who have been picked for different reasons to make this journey, helping him find himself and believe in the spirit of Christmas. I think this movie gives a nice message to older adults who have given up on something that it’s never too late to start believing again. Now, I’m not sure I will ever believe in Santa Claus again, but I do believe that “The Polar Express” is a feel-good family film that you should watch over the holidays.
