Listen: Citizen Cope

Songs: “Sideways“, “Let the Drummer Kick“, “Back Together

When I was in high school, my world revolved around Citizen Cope. I was obsessed with this blue eyed soul crooner. Unfortunately, some of his best work went under the radar, mainly because John Mayer had a hold on the white boy soulful pop singer/songwriter market. But if you watch musically-driven TV shows like “One Tree Hill” and “Scrubs”, you are very aware of his work. As of 2010, he hasn’t released music on a major record label, instead opting to make music on his own label which he did this year with the album, “One Lovely Day”. Seriously hope that some of his new music matches his earlier songs that I love.
