Watch: Jumping the Broom

Note to Tyler Perry: this is how you make an African-American ensemble dramedy. I didn’t have any real expectations when I watched this film, I was home alone on a Sunday night and nothing else was on TV, so I ended up watching this movie and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. The movie is about a successful man and woman from difference socio-economic backgrounds who fall in love and plan to have a wedding at Martha’s Vineyard. Drama ensues and issues arise when their two families meet for the first time on that weekend. The story was solid and has some twists that I was not expecting and Julie Bowen from “Modern Family” has some great one-liners. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a fan of wedding comedies.pau
