Eat: Berry Pavlova
I have to credit Tumblr for my discovery of this unique dessert. Pavlova is a meringue- like dessert that is named after a Russian ballerina named Anna Pavlova and is a popular dessert in Australia and New Zealand. It has a light texture on the inside and a crispy crust on the outside. It is prepared in a similar way a meringue is made except there is an addition of cornstarch, which causes the crispy outside. Pavlova is a very delicate dessert that is notorious for being fragile and if not properly cooled in the oven, can deflate. Once prepared, it is normally topped with whipped cream and fruit like fresh or frozen berries There are several recipes for pavlova, but I found a pretty basic one here, if you want to try it. Within an hour, you’ll be enjoying this delicious light treat. Bon appétit!
