Wear: Best Dressed at the Emmys

The Emmys aired last night and while I found the show to be a little lackluster,  the red carpet dresses to be absolutely stellar. Out of all the dresses that graced the red carpet, I somehow found a way to narrow the field down to my 12 favorite looks of the night.

To next year’s nominees: if you want to win an Emmy in your category, wear a yellow dress. With the exception of Leslie Mann, who was not nominated last night, Julie Bowen, Claire Danes, and Julianne Moore were all dressed in some shade of yellow and walked away with statutes. Bowen wore a strapless neon Monique Lhuillier dress, who seemed to be the designer of choice last night. Claire Danes look lovely in drapey Lanvin (who is pregnant – you can barely tell!) By the way, was I the only one who was rooting for her to pull a Beyonce and rub her belly? I will never understand how Julianne Moore did not sweat in her long sleeved Dior Haute Couture, but she looked. And Leslie Mann gave us a glimpse at how Blake Lively will dress in the future in her beautiful, breezy Naaem Khan.

The orange Monique Lhuilier looked gorgeous with Padma Lakshmi’s skin tone. Allison Williams decided to rock the peplum trend with her green Oscar de la Renta. Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka looked adorable and age appropriate in her custom made Zac Posen dress. The gray in Emily VanCamp’s J.Mendel was light, yet intricately pleated (if only her posture was better!).

Tiny Fey is known for only wearing black and usually ends up on the worst dress list, but with this beautiful maroon Vivienne Westwood, she has never looked better. Julianne Hough went for an old Hollywood feel with Georges Hobeika’s literal take on the mermaid dress. Kerry Washington looked gorgeous in her sparkly Vivienne Westwood. And Edie Falco wowed in this Stella McCartney dress. I almost wanted her to win so I could see more of it. Let me know your thoughts about best dressed in the comment section below!

Spot on with this write-up, I truly think this website wants way more consideration. I’ll in all probability be again to read way more, thanks for that info.
