Wear: alice + olivia Spring 2013

Alice + Olivia designer Stacy Bendet  was clearly inspired by the 1950s and 1960s for her Spring 2013 collection. Cinched waist, A-line skirts, pleats and dropwaists were seen throughout her presentation of her line. Some standout pieces are highlighted above. The red watercolor floral dress is extremely feminine and flattering on any figure. The blue dropwaist dress has a 1920s “Great Gatsby” cut but made with 1960s material. I’m loving the red shoe and bag color pop. The gold brocade jacket is gorgeous and the pairing with the pleated dress is genius. I could see someone like Sally Draper on “Mad Men” wearing this. The final dress looks simple, clean and chic with its delicate lace panels and flowy material. Overall, a very pretty, consistent collection for the fashion label.
