Wear: BCBG Max Azria Spring 2013

Leather. Lace. Harnesses. These are things that would be associated most associate with the popular novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, and can also be found in the BCBG Max Azria Spring 2013 collection. While the combination of these fabrics might sound odd, in this collection, it actually works. The length of the dresses play a factor in this; it shows that a woman can be and feel sexy without showing a lot of skin. The collection was inspired by the femme fatale muses and high contrast of Helmut Newton’s black and white photography, which is evident in the mostly clean and neutral color of the fabrics. Celebrities that could be seen in the collection would be Zoe Saldana or Olivia Wilde, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the coral dress made it on a starlet on the red carpet pretty soon.
