Live: Gold Animal Decor
From guest writer Bozuma Acquaah
I own a random assortment of plastic toy animals that I have collected during my last 2 years at Cornell by going to fishbowls at an Ithaca’s “hot spot”. They are coveted items; you can redeem a free fishbowl in exchange for 18 of them or they make for cute shelf decorations when the night was over. But now that my college days are over, what am I to do with my toy brontosauruses and lions?
Solution: Turn my stash into gold. It seems like using gold animal figurines as home decorations are having a moment in interior design. From place settings to coffee table centerpieces, these objects are a quirky, yet somewhat luxe addition to the home. Gold animals can be purchased at prices ranging from $20 to $200 depending on size and quality or you can simply make your own with a can of spray paint: detailed instructions can be found here. Either way, you have a quick and easy way to liven up any space.
