Appreciate: Arman “Red Tubes of Paint” 1980

I stumbled upon this artist, Arman Pierre Fernandez or simply Arman, when I was doing research for a marketing class I took senior year. I was immediately taken by Armen’s use of materials and after I finished my assignment, I went on a hunt to find more about the artist. Arman was a French artist who regularly integrated material that is used  to make paintings like paintbrushes and tubes of paint into his work. He also took everyday objects like lamps, violins, and their cases, deconstructed them, and then put them back together in a visually striking, unexpected way. This work reminds me of Pollack but instead of calculated paint splatters, it is unexpected splatter from tubes of different shades of red paint. This also goes to show the power of art and its influences because there has been a trend on Pinterest of people melting crayons on canvas for a similar effect. I think the crayon project would be cheaper and less messier.
