Live: Integrate Color in a Neutral Setting

I’m a fan of color. Whether it’s adding a colorful scarf to a monochromatic outfit to painting a white bedroom wall in Pantone color of the year. Some people take color popping to an entire new level by investing in colorful furniture. The key to not overdoing color implementation in interior decorating is to making sure to choose one color and pick complementary colors that accentuate, not overwhelm the furniture. A perfect example can be found in the picture above. The deep plum modern sofa is accented with maroon and deep-red throw pillows. The space looks livable and not intimidating like some of the spreads you would find in Vogue or Elle Decor.  That’s because, fun fact, this space is used in television, film, and photo shoots in London so it  kind of has to be. The take away message is: you don’t have to fill your living space with Jonathan Adler’s latest collection. A few, simple colored pieces will be less overwhelming.
